Fullux
Howdy all, I'm looking for a good Edmontosaurus specimen that's within my budget and these two rib ends fit the bill, though I'm wondering if these are Edmontosaurus or if they're another critter entirely. Here's the first one. Looks more like an Edmontosaurus rib from what I've seen. And here's the second one. Seller says that both are more likely Triceratops or Edmontosaurus than anything else. hadrosauridae
I'll start with the caveat that many bone elements in Ed and Trike are not diagnostic, so as stand alone finds they are very difficult to label to a species. When they come from an area such as the Hell creek, which is predominantly those two species, its a toss-up. When you have a partial bone its even harder. Best option is to just call this one an indeterminant rib head. 2 1 Professional fossil preparation services at Red Dirt Fossils, LLC.
