Brevicollis Posted 14 hours ago Share Posted 14 hours ago Hello, I have questions about a pathology that appears only to occur in palatal mosasaur teeth. The pathology in question is, when the anterior and buccal sides of a palatal tooth develop many extra carinae, on my first tooth its around 20, on the second one I couldnt count yet, as I dont have my magnification glass with me. The carinae range from really short and weakly developed, to some strongly developed carinae, that reach from the base to the very tip. Also, I was able to observe, that on both teeth, 3 carinae split and rejoin again. Tooth 1 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Tooth 2 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Has anyone else seen something like that or similar enough recently in maybe even their own prognathodontine teeth ? I had'nt seen this pathology in mosasaurine teeth so far, maybe its only prognathodontine exclusive. I would also love to see pictures of that, as I am trying to figure out, whats really going on with those teeth, and if they might also be scientifficly important. Maybe I'll even try to reach out to other researchers with those results and questions, and get their opinions too, and possibly try to release, with some help from the adults, a paper about these pathologies in qustion.
