New Members twindoc Posted yesterday at 04:32 AM New Members Share Posted yesterday at 04:32 AM (edited) Found this in NE Ohio on a river bank when I was hiking. I'm a novice and not sure if this is a fossil so provided different views of this for others to review. Thanks for any help identifying what this is. Rockwood Posted yesterday at 06:28 AM Share Posted yesterday at 06:28 AM I'm not sure what kind of rock to call this. Maybe pebbly limestone, but it doesn't look like a fossil. The shape is the result of weathering/erosion. 1
doushantuo
Dale is right, there are no clear indications of biogenicity. The curvature of scalloped erosion surfaces might SUGGEST a biological origin, as pointed out above Keep at it ,BTW, because geology and collecting are worthwile pastimes. Sooner or later you're bound to find something interesting
