Rostrum of Saurodon or Protosphyraena?

Hi all

My son found this piece of fossilized bone today at the North Sulphur River (NSR). It is elliptical in cross section and tapers at one end. We were wondering if this is part of a fish rostrum, specifically from Protosphyraena or Saurodon. The other possibility that someone mentioned is the rib of Protostega.  Any advice is much appreciated.

Thanks!

@Uncle Siphuncle@Jared C@Mikrogeophagus and anyone else I'm forgetting (sorry) might be able to help.  This is kinda out of my wheelhouse, I need to learn more about fish anatomy as a whole ;)
