rod
I adopted this baculite from a creek today. Now it is drying and starting to loosen at the joints. How can I preserve this specimen to prevent it form seperating? - ROD

Many would say use a watered down version of elmers glue.
jpc
Or do nothing. If the things hold together they make a pretty cool fossil... a bit of a rattlesnake tail. And Baculites are conoluted enough that they might hold each other together. I have one of these from out west that I think is really cool. glue is the best way, now you dont want to put just any kind of glue on fossils, some can do more harm than anything else.
