I adopted this baculite from a creek today. Now it is drying and starting to loosen at the joints. How can I preserve this specimen to prevent it form seperating?

glue is the best way, now you dont want to put just any kind of glue on fossils, some can do more harm than anything else. Many would say use a watered down version of elmers glue.

Or do nothing. If the things hold together they make a pretty cool fossil... a bit of a rattlesnake tail. And Baculites are conoluted enough that they might hold each other together. I have one of these from out west that I think is really cool.
