meg123
Does anyone happen to know how large the largest meg vert ever found is and any photos of it?
megateeth
Does anyone happen to know how large the largest meg vert ever found is and any photos of it? I am not sure that any have been found. Most of the fossilized verts I heard about were from the smaller sharks like makos and Great Whites but I could be wrong. earthdog
Dr. Hubbell has one. It was in the photos I sent you. It may be the only Megalodon vert found. I'm not sure.
THobern
They're not all that uncommon. I've seen a fair few pictures of them, and have seen them discussed in a paper on growth rates. Megalodon vertebrates also pop up for sale every now and again. Here's a 3 1/2" Chilean one that Norm sold me. I don't know if this is definetely a megalodon vertebra, but one sold the other day on eBay; http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250684497798&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
