Quartz geodes may not be the "proper name"...However, inside I have found very low quality brittle quarts. Cross link to a recent post: My link Those geodes don't really look any more like the randomly curled, shafts of lumpy discs than any of the other suggestions. PaulR never got back with pictures of his so maybe he decided they didn't either. I wonder if the site someone suggested yielded any better responses.
