Nodule Collecting

I went collecting down in SW Indiana yesterday for nodules. Decent time was had, in spite of the rain and the grease like mud! That's all part of it though, right? Anyway, some of the nodules that were already cracked open showed either Neuropteris or Alethopteris leaves, but who knows what's in the nodules. We also found some leaves in shale, but they were VERY friable. I collected some, but haven't had a chance to look at them yet to see if they survived drying out and the travel back.

If I can figure out how to post pictures I'll put some up here after I start cracking some of these things open. Don't hold your breath, it'll be a bit-this weekend we're going out of town to celebrate my sons 2nd birthday, and when we get back I'm having some knee surgery done, so the nodules will have to wait a bit. Updates to y'all as I can get them.

Cool. I look forward to seeing your plant material as I don't have many opportunities to collect it.
