Christopher Darbonne
Has anyone found Megaladon teeth in Texas? I have been searching on the internet and have not heard of any yet.
tracer
not that i know of. the right layers to find them aren't exposed here. you have pleistocene at the coast, and eocene and cretaceous teeth other places, but i haven't heard of meg teeth being found. there have been a few great white teeth found at galveston. i found one many years ago and my son found one two or three years ago... Christopher Darbonne
Thanks!! I have been searching on the internet about water levels back to the Oligocene epoch when Megaladon was thought to have originated. I haven't seen any definitive illustration of the water level in the Gulf, but the ones I have seen appear to show water levels further inland then now and of course Fla was completely under water and I can see why there would be so many there. MikeD
I've heard stories that a few have been found a bit further south of here, but have yet to see any proof. Salt domes do push up the occasional out of place fossil.
