The Winner of the February 2011 Invertebrate / Plant Find Of The Month are the Double Ammonites in matrix from the Jurassic of Germany! Congratulations to fossilman7 on his golden yellow find and prep! :D

Congratulations Fossilman on your very nice looking ammonites. I would ID them as Dactylioceras athleticum from the lower Toarcian. May I ask you in which exact location you found them? Are they from an erratic block which may have been somehow transported there or did they come directly from the bedrock? They remind me very much of the ones to be found at the classic sites around Schlaifhausen.

Yep, amazing fossil! Haven't seen many that are in that good a condition :goodjob:
