astron
I finished yesterday the prep of this coprolites plate found last Sunday in my area (late miocene Crete island, Greece). This is the second one in my collection, but this time it's more multiple. It bears 13 coprolites of at least 8 species of animals. Ten of the coprolites are completely or almost completely revealed and two of them are carbonized. The bigger of the carbonized ones belongs to a rodent (fossils of this species have been found 40 km away), while I don't know what the animals species the rest coprolites come from. Attached are 3 pics of the hole slab. 1.Front side with the fossils in their original position. 2.Front side after moving the moveable fossils 3.Back side. On my next post are attached 6 pics of the fossils (single or in pairs). Edited June 3, 2011 by astron Astrinos P. Damianakis

astron
On this slab are a complete coprolite and a section of another one of the same animal or of the same species of animals. The second one shows the inner structure of these specimens. Astrinos P. Damianakis

paco
Many thanks, my friend I think you are probably right I edit,,, I've reconsidered that ID... Well Not actually having access to this fossil I cannot tell for sure from images. But I think it could be some kind of aquatic insect larva, too... Don;t edit the Id, someone may have a better suggestion. Anyway... wow! Cool new stuff.

I made the edit after googling where I remarked some similarities. At any rate, I refer ''probably'' and all of our friends here in TFF well know that anyone of their aspects are well accepted and appreciated Thanks a lot for your comment as well. Astrinos P. astron
Another unidentified seed. The cavity shown on pic 1 was ful of carbonized material ( powder and seeds). After removing the powder, were reveald four seeds (pic 3) in the (approximate) order shown on the pic 2. I divided in 2 pieces the smaller seed and the inner structure is shown on a high sized pic on the next post. Edited June 16, 2011 by astron Astrinos P.
