astron
Roz, Steve, Chas, John, Thanks a lot for the kind comments. Yes, my intention is the story of the above fish to be continued when possible. To close this big fishy parenthesis I am adding the two last fishy finds. Here is the first one. It's about the bigger fish vertebra I have found to date 55 x 35 x 25 mm. It should be a big fish... Edited November 12, 2011 by astron Astrinos P. astron
And the second one is a small (6 cm) sprattelloides gracilis fish. That's all.. Edited November 12, 2011 by astron Astrinos P. Damianakis
Nandomas
Again congratulation, Astrinos, for all the fossils you are finding!!! Just found these pictures while I was archiving Munich show photos. They are Cretan minerals and not fossils, but I hope you will enjoy them. Nando Erosion... will be my epitaph! http://www.paleonature.org/ https://fossilnews.org/

Just found these pictures while I was archiving Munich show photos. They are Cretan minerals and not fossils, but I hope you will enjoy them. Nando Thanks a lot, Nando, so for the kind comment as for the nice pics you have attached I am amazed since this is the first time I am seeing so nice minerals of my island exhibited in a so important show out of Greece for the additional reason that Crete isn't famous for its minerals. Moreover, you bring in my mind the intention to present in the Foum (when time available) my not extensive mineral collection, of wich one of the best examples is attached in two pics. It's about a crazy combination of selenite, calcite and sulphur in my opinion... Astrinos P. Damianakis
astron
Hello all. I think it's time to come back to the plant material. Today and the next days I'll try to present the enough recent seeds - fruits or seed pods I have found. I have to apologise once more for the missing ids (despite to my efforts) due to the luck of the appropriate guiding resources. So, any aspect or help would be appreciated. Each one of todays slabs contain more than one item. The first three slabs are on the attached four pics. The main item of the first slab is a poaceae seedling. The pics 2 and 3 are of both sides of the same slab. Astrinos P. Damianakis
astron
Four slabs here. Astrinos P. Damianakis
astron
The next set of four. The first slab contains a seed among some fish scales. These scales occure and in other cases. Astrinos P. Damianakis
astron
Last for now is a pair of slabs. The carbonized main item on the last one is very well preserved and reminds me of a fruit of some type. Astrinos P. Damianakis
Lloyd
I am at a loss of for words. It just doesn't quite seem enough to say you have a completely incredible collection. I especially liked the series of photos that showed some of your collecting locals. Very very very nice. Thank you for sharing.
astron
Hello, Lloyd and all. Thank you so much, Lloyd, for the kind comments Some strange things for today... At first three alike items in two pics each. They are more likely mineral growths??? Edited January 4, 2013 by astron Astrinos P. astron
Another two items Seeds or simply logs? Edited January 4, 2013 by astron Astrinos P. Damianakis
astron
And the last item I wonder if seed or just a piece of wood? It's about a very well preserved rounded fossil in the middle of a plantation plate. Edited January 4, 2013 by astron Astrinos P. astron
Some seeds in concretions are to follow. Here are the first three of them. Astrinos P. Damianakis

astron
The day's last find is a slab containing two seeds in concretions and a small fish downwards. The fish is not well preserved but there is no doubt it's about a fish. So, it's another case of terrestial and marine fossils coexistance. Astrinos P. Roz
Another two items I am not sure if seeds (or odd logs?). I find those very mysterious looking.. They don't look like the seeds I have seen on the forum and also look odd to be a log (to me).. I'm stumped.. I am looking forward to hearing what they are when you get an ID.. Welcome to the forum!
