Salmon
I have found a couple small trilobites at the Penn Dixie site and I have a couple questions. I think they are Phacops Rana. On one of the Trilos it seems that there is an outer shell that has taller ridges and then a small inside with tiny ridges, I was wondering what is this? Is it like the inner body of the trilobite? All of the ones i found are small and round with no distinguishble heads, are these just pieces or smaller version of the large ones?

Ordovician_Odyssey
Hi Salmon, I have heard that Phacops rana (Eldredgeops rana) are one of the more common trilos in the area... Devonian NY is kinda stepping out of my eliment, but i can still manage to get some info on it.. Could you please post a pic for a positive ID? Thanks Shamus -Shamus The Ordovician enthusiast.
