Hi guys!

I am going to be planning a trip this summer to either Porthope, ME ... or Boston MA.

I need help choosing whitch one! :P

Which one is better for fossils? And what fossils are present (in each one)?

Also, are shark teeth present in either?

Thanks a bunch guys!

Cheers!

Um, bad news...

Neither area is a fossil Mecca :(

A fossil Mecca is any place well endowed with fossils.

Neither of your options is.

Hi Shamus,

Check out these charts. The fossils are sorted by type, county and with GPS data.

There are plenty of fossils listed so hopefully something is productive for hunting. :D

Shamus,

Will you be driving? I think you could plan a route that would take you by some interesting sites along the way. I believe your destinations (both of them) are not likely to produce much in the way of fossil hunting.
