The Winner of the September 2011 Vertebrate Find Of The Month is the Actinopterygian fish brain endocast from the Pennsylvanian Bridgeport Shale of TX, USA! Congratulations to Roz on her find and 2nd win with a Pennsylvanian age discovery!

Congrats Rozzo! It deserved to win because of it's rarity, uniqueness and quality of preservation. It's fine specimens like yours that become the basis for scientific papers.

I did see a nice pdf that someone sent with a brain that looks like the

one I found.. That is my favorite fossil and always will be..
