The Winner of the October 2011 Vertebrate Find Of The Month is a wonderfully prepared Scombridae specimen (18 cm mackerel) from the Ypresium / Eocene Fur Formation in Limfjord, Denmark! Congratulations to Ludwigia (Roger) on his find! Thanks for sharing the before and after photos, Roger. ;)

Thank you to everyone who participated.

:meg dance: Warm congratulations, Roger :goodjob:

You are worth it from all directions :Thumbs Up:

To compare our contestants, they are both 18 cm fishes but your one is a miracle :sword:

Though, I have to admit that I haven't voted for it :P

Thanks a lot everyone has voted for my fish :)

Thanks everyone! I'm proud to have turned out to be the winner here because this fish was up against some very fine competition. Also your comments about the preparation are very encouraging, since this was the first time for me that I had tried anything on this scale of difficulty. Although I was the one that brought it to the light of day, the fish itself is the real winner here.

Best wishes, Roger
