Are Flemingostrea Subspatulata oysters worth keeping? What is there rarity?

Thanks, Fossil Foilist

What an odd question! Whether or not they are worth keeping depends on why you collect. If you have an interest in fossil mollusks, they are certainly worth keeping (at least a few representative specimens). I have several, from a number of different sites, but I am interested in bivalve evolution and in collecting representatives of the whole fauna from certain formations. If you are interested in ammonites but not in bivalves, they may not be worth collecting, except in the sense that they are a guide to the age of the outcrop/layer they came from. They are not rare in the horizons in which they occur, and they are astonishingly abundant at some sites.
