Mr ATCG
Both of these fossils came from the Brazos river. I believe that the "tooth" may be a mammaoth based off of this image http://www5.esc13.net/ctrc/images/paleo_mammoth_teeth_lg.JPG Now the tooth is broken in half and I was wondering if there is anyway to "glue" it back together? Now the other fossil is some sort of "horn." Now I don't find it impossible that it could be part of a tusk, but I don't know very much on ancient mammals. Foshunter
The tooth is a partial Mastodon, an elephant like animal, could be a tumbled piece of tusk----Tom Edited March 16, 2012 by Foshunter Grow Old Kicking And Screaming !!"Don't Tread On Me"

darrow
Yea the first one looks like a mastadon tooth fragment. Can you try to get a close up of the broken ends of the horn/tusk looking thing? Look for the most "unpolished" broken or fractured area that might show the "grain" of the material in cross section. Look for a "cross hatch" pattern kinda like the picture below. The pattern is present in ivory tusks all elephant like creatures. Nice finds...
