I found this rock in a pile of rocks laying around in Fort Hood, Texas. What could this be? I know nothing about rocks or anything really..But I have always been obsessed. I have a huge collection of rocks but I have never seen one like this...http://www.flickr.com/photos/madisonlynnerwin/

Calcite? Does it fizz if you put vinegar on it?

calcite / tiger eye just a guess.

same me, i have a load of rocks but no clue what any are but they are different to just normal ordanary stones.

the picture im showing, is a yellow orange stone hard cant scratch it and it got bits in it, and the green pictures are results as i pointed green laser into it.

other picts from an ammonite that i accdently broke and this was inside. blue yellow and red speks of light sparkling.

i dont know alot of rocks and minerals still learning. if any1 knows what they are please let me know. thanks

Stoll, I am completely new to all this, so don't take my word on it, but try looking up "ammolite" my understanding is its a natural occurance in some ammonites. (the sparkling you saw after accidentally breaking the ammonite) I have no clue on the first pics. Hope this may be of some help. :)

I'm thinking calcite too. Try a black light on it, it should glow back if it is, although not gauranteed. Also the vinegar test is really good at proving it.
