Rick_Jo
I understand that fossils can be silicified or replaced by a variety of minerals like quartz. What mineral has replaced this fossil? Is it hematite? The fossil was found in what I think is siltstone. In some locations it has been weathered by the sea and the brown, bronze fossils extrude from the rock and look as if they have been varnished.
