Whales
Hi guys! I posted on this forum last year inquiring about two "whale fossils" that I had purchased at the time. I didn't get any answers would still like to know whether or not they are whale vertebrae and hopefully the age and type of whale they are from? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! njfossilhunter
The first one looks to be a whale vert .....its very hard to tell from what type of whale it might have came from unless you know the formation it came out of and if your a real expert on them. The second one looks like a Ichtyosaur vert from the cliffs in southern England.......Your vert looks just like the one I have from the same area in my collection. I hope this was helpful.
