Small Fish Vertebrae I Think

Hi all I think this is a small fish trunk vertebrae found in the carboniferous coal measures again

although something about it says not fish vert :wacko: hellllppppp !! I cant make up my mind with it being fragmented (the vert that is not my mind lol !! )

its only 3.22mm in width and is in cross section

Chris,

I think you are correct - either a vertebrae, or the last vert in the line - the hypural.

I'm thinking something similar to this pic.

Well spotted! Add that to your growing list of fish bits. :)

Fish vertebra.... Very cool. Those certainly don't turn up that often in the Carboniferous.

Context is critical.
