New Members ronr Posted July 26, 2013 New Members Share Posted July 26, 2013 I will be visiting the Raton, New Mexico area in August. I understand there are plant fossils on Johnson Mesa near Raton. Does anyone know anything about them?
Plantguy
Hi ronr, ..not sure if you have already seen this pub.....If not, it should give you some general ideas....The Raton basin area has Cretaceous/Paleocene stuff. The list of references in the back of this pub also has a number of other great leads that might help as well. Grab a donut/muffin and some coffee/tea and dig out a geologic map of the area and you should be half way there!
