MarcoSr
I find lots of fossil crab claw tips in matrix that I search for micro shark, ray and fish teeth. I always just label them “crab claw tip”. Is there anything diagnostic in a crab claw tip that would let you identify it to a family or further to a genus or species? If so are there any good publications (books, articles etc.) specifically about fossil crab claw tips that would be useful for identification? I also find much smaller and more delicate looking fossil specimens that could be shrimp claws. Are there any publications about fossil shrimp claws that might be useful for identification? Are there any publications on extant crab claws or shrimp claws? Marco Sr. "Any day that you can fossil hunt is a great day."
