pinkpantherbeekeeper
I checked this against bovine and could it be a tibia? Just a guess since it is missing the ends. Any thoughts are welcome!
kolleamm
I would say it could be, but I wouldn't rule out the ulna and the radius either. Edited August 31, 2013 by kolleamm
RichW9090
It does appear to be a tibia. The key is the nutrient foramen visible on the first photograph. However, this appears to be a bone from a young animal, and none of the muscle scars are very well developed. I see nothing to tell me if this tibia is Equus or Bison/Bos. It is too straight and robust to be a cervid (moose or elk). If I had it in hand, and a good comparative skeleton of both a young bison and a young horse, I might be able to differentiate, but not on the basis of pictures, I'm afraid. The plural of "anecdote" is not "evidence".
