New Members eklogite Posted November 11, 2013 New Members Share Posted November 11, 2013 Hello every body. I would like to know how reliable is built in GPS of cellphones? Currently I am using a Sony Xperia SL smartphone which uses both GPS and Glonass satellite navigation systems. In best conditions, I have accuracy of 3 meters when GPS is locked. Does it work for me for a fossil hunt or I need to bring a professional GPS device ? Thanks Eklogite
ahuijsmans
most consumer class GPS products use the same chipset.... so Smartphone GPS is as good as any when it comes to accuracy and reception. Only military class GPS has higher accuracy.. So yeah, just use your smartphone.. works well!
