Well here is another one for you to see from POC

Catahoula point I sifted up last year.post-417-1231203368_thumb.jpg

My educated guess would have been a Cuney point b/c the blade edges are notched and the Catahoula edges are saw-tooth serrations to fine serrations. Both are corner notched and expanded barb types. The shoulder on the Catahoula has more of an incurvate than the Cuney point toward the shoulder. Looks like the cross section would show on a guess I would say median ridged?

Do you have a picture of both of the mentioned points that we could look at side by side?

Thanks for the info! I had glanced at a friends book and that was my un-educated guess LOL

I'm back. What a great day!! It's really didn't feel that cold in the creek, but the water was very cold. I had some fantastic finds. The highlights are: that nearly two inch sucker, the large coral clump, the big tooth still in matrix, and two associated teeth I got out of the face bank substrate.

I hope i did that picture right?

Fossil, it's like a rock, but better.

Awesome! Love that tooth in the matrix.

There is an endless supply of gravel there that continues to produce!

Snakekeeper64,

Here is the information you asked for. My degree is in Archeology and my studies were devoted to pre-history Native Americans. I hope this information helps.
