Have you ever try to explain to someone that the "soft rock formations" of July are always "hard rock formations" during the cold months. That sure was true with the Nebraska Badlands. You would not thought there was a difference, but temperature makes a true collector's Winter finds more difficult to extract. And... ice even. People will admire your collection and not take in consideration the hard effort and time it took to find the choice pieces. This must the Miocene fossils that Maryland is known for....?
