AmazoniteJosh
While looking at fossilsites.com under Virginia, I found a site only a short drive away that apparently has Lissodus teeth which that I've found out are REALLY small. Regardless of the tooth size, I would like to go check it out, the website says Tomahawk Creek, Chesterfield, VA ''On abandoned portion of Old Hundred Road on Turkey Branch'' Honestly, I don't know where that really is. Any help on directions would be appreciated. Edited May 24, 2014 by AmazoniteJosh
Fossildude19
That is one of the problems with the website - the info is very old, in some instances. Looking in google earth, it appears Old Hundred Road is now built up. Tomahawk creek may not exist anymore. One thing to do would be to explore the creeks in the area, and see if the strata outcrops in any of the stream banks or walls. Lissodus teeth will probably be found in matrix, rather than loose. AmazoniteJosh
Thanks, all of the info that was online was old documents of the formation and stuff. I checked out Little Tomahawk Creek once, didn't find anything, but I was not looking for outcrops, I was looking for loose stuff.
fossilized6s
Yeah, I've tried to find some spots from there, and they're gone..... pretty frustrating when it's a 1hr+ drive one way. ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG
