jbstedman
I found this tooth on the Virginia side of the Potomac -- formations in the area are Miocene. I have tentatively identified it as Isurus desori but would like some feedback on that id. Tip is broken. Besides fossils, I collect roadcuts, Stream beds, Winter beaches: Places of pilgrimage. Sharktoothguy11222
It kinda does look like desori, but something about the root is throwing me off. Maybe hastalis??? Tha tighin fodham, fodham, fodham!
Guest bmorefossil
i would go with lower hastalis, i guess. the root seems to big and the root lobes two small to be desori yet I do have desori like this.

I would lean towards Hastalis the root looks a little to robust even though the ends are worn.

I'll look into hastalis. Besides fossils, I collect roadcuts, Stream beds, Winter beaches: Places of pilgrimage.
