Baby Ammonite? Or More....

I see what appears to be a gastropod in the first pic. can't make out anything much in the second except for the same gastropod on the left.

That looks like pretty solid limestone. Attempting to fracture it open would probably result in uncontrollable fracture lines, possible destroying your gastropod.

I think only a person with an air abrader could attempt to expose more.

Do you think there would be other things inside?

I'd say there's a chance, given some of the pits and vugs visible on the exterior, but you would risk the gastropod to find out.

Where there is one, there will be more. Leave it be and keep looking for better and better specimens.

Most certainly gastropod. Possibly Gynodes sp. Do you know formation or locality info? That is helpful for identification. Central Texas has quite a spread of ages.
