Were you near any Miocene deposits? If so, it could be Carcharoides.

Actually, I found a nice C. hastalis and other Miocene stuff in a stream probably not too far from where you were. Perhaps a flood of some sort moved material into the river and along the shoreline. I would expect a lot more wear though if that happened. Unless, there is a creek mouth near where you found it... You don't have to answer that last statement so that if it's true you don't give away your spot, but it's just a thought...

Oh yeah, and who's to say that you didn't find a new species??? If anyone would, it probably would be you!

na i doubt that there are so many people that hunt the places in maryland, since its from the Nanjemoy ill keep an eye out on teeth that look like it and get some pictures around 11

hmm i really cant find anything that has the tooth shape and the cusps like this tooth but i think it is one of the three you listed because of the blade shape
