kknight
I found this at the NSR Friday. I think it is a Pentanogmius (Bananogmius) evolutus. The other side has the backbone, and some processes. I will try to get a better picture in the future. barefootgirl
You do need a better pict. What part of the sulphur did you find it? kknight
I will try to actually take a picture of it tonight instead of scanning it in at work. I showed some people here. As for where it was found, about a mile upriver from the 2990 bridge. As for where it was found, about a mile upriver from the 2990 bridge. When you shoot it, please do both sides. The verts can be more diagnostic than the scales. I'm not that familiar with the scales of bananognomius....but I know it's typically a pretty big (6 foot) fish. Have you looked at pachyrhizodus minimus? It's often found with scales and the size might be closer.
kknight
front back These will have to work until I get a new Halogen bulb. This is probably pachyrhizodus minimus like you said. It is not very big. Amateur Nature Photographer / Fossil Hunter www.naturesstage.com Kevin Knight

kknight
Thanks, if it was not for that other bone shard, I would have never bent down to look at that area to begin with. I found another interesting bone, but I have to post it later.
