RojoViejo
This came with a load of fill dirt in Brazos County, Texas. Any ideas?

Highlander
Sometimes the pieces of fossil trees have a transverse calcite streaks like in your case. And between that streaks some pieces of coal or a charred pieces of wood, or something like that. But this black pieces of coal often fall away and only calcite streaks stay on their places. So may be it a piece of ancient tree. Its just my vision of this situation, because i frequently found them, and they same like on your photo. To more accurately say "what it is"- make please photo from another side and try to get a one or two shots in mode "macro" of side that you already show us. JohnJ
I've seen and picked up a lot of rocks from Brazos County, TX. There are some extremely interesting geologic formations in the area. Between the varieties of petrified wood, septarian nodules and sandstone, you can find lots of 'weird' stuff. Your find has the look of a septarian-like vug or eroded nodule. Fossildude19
Not seeing any bone structure to this item - I'm guessing you have a weird geologic oddity. JohnJ
I'm thinking the remains of a small turtle.... Going from a guess of "maxilla" to a guess of "turtle" seems to be without any context. Xiphactinus
smiley - I don't want to be rude, but you really need to learn more before trying to ID any fossils. We don't just throw out guesses here. There are many things that are posted for ID that I have no clue about, so I don't say anything. Your ID's are way off base and all over the place.
