texaswoodie
Hey guys I need to be in Denton on March 7. Any locations I can check out? I'll have some equipment in my truck that I don't want to get too far from, so roadcuts and constuction areas would be great. Thanks! Curt
jimmy1971
Hey Texaswoodie, you should try the huge construction site called Rayzor Ranch on the corner of I-35 and University Dr. (hwy 380). I went there and found many gastropods, a few echinoids, and some ammonite fragments. Hope this helps
MikeD
That's a good spot.
Oh-Man
Look for any construction sites, especially some older ones. I've found ammonites just laying on the ground in spots. What is geology? "Rocks for Jocks!"
texaswoodie
Thanks guys! I hate going somewhere and not spending some time having fun. Curt
jimmy1971
We gotta get those construction sites before they are covered up. It's best someone who has an interest and appreciation for the fossils being uncovered get them than to lose them forever (at least our lifetimes). good luck and post pics of what you find in the area.
