NSRaddict_1
My wife and I , a couple of weeks ago passed by this creek and thought it might have some potential . So Friday was out and had a chance to stop . The large echinoid is about 3" dia , and 1 1/2" thick . Here is what we (she) found : Hunting fossils is fun , but discovering is better ! PaleoRon
It looks like your hunch was right. It doesn't hurt to look and it sometimes pays off.

Oh-Man
How long were you all on the site? And is there any construction in the area? I love great big urchins. The largest I've found to date was about 4 1/2" long, but unfortunately in 3 pieces... I'll look forward to seeing more finds from your efforts there. O What is geology? "Rocks for Jocks!" Jaxdaddy
Nice finds! I love all these little creeks around Fort Worth. I have found a few echinoids, but none that size. Nice piece.
jimmy1971
Nice Echinoids! I found a few just like that in North West Denton county a while back. They are the size of your palm. Really cool finding those.

O We were there for about 45 minutes , no , no construction there , we have a couple more that size but not with the detail this one has , all there just some cracks and solid structure . We are planning to go back soon and take tools next time . Hunting fossils is fun , but discovering is better !
