hollynotsowell
Hi Guys, I was just researching Paradoxides Trilobites on the web and found an article on this site: http://www.fossilmuseum.net/collect/faketrilobites3.htm. I was dismayed to hear that most of the morrocan specimens are fake! I have bought two this year and would like anyone in the know to tell me if my ones are fake too. Images attached. They were bougt from a reputable dealer who I have no trouble with before.
Auspex
I think fakery may be wide-spread, but by no means are all Moroccan trilos complete fabrications. Some are, many have varying degrees of restoration and cosmetic surgery (almost always required, due to the method of collection), and a very few are complete-as-found. Yours looks good to me, with maybe some light restoration.
