JohnJ
My wife and I were host to danwoehr and Weston (mini-dan) this past weekend. We played in the lower Cretaceous until I found some "bloody" echinoids. Of course that's not all we found, but that's another post. Meanwhile, though not perfect, I found some nice Phymosoma with an unusual color of preservation. Phymosoma texanum is described as being round, and convex above, while P. mexicanum is "smaller", sub-pentagonal, with finer tubercles. I thought I'd run these past our experts here and abroad to see if they could ID the suspects. Thanks for any feedback. in situ preliminary cleaning additional volunteers to my collection... CreekCrawler
Nice, it looks like you guys/gals had some good collecting. The color on the Echinoids is pretty neat. Calling Mr.Murphy.......................
Roz
Nice finds, John and really like the shot where they are lined up like tires. Makes an interesting perspective.. Welcome to the forum!
JohnJ
Thanks, all. Here are a couple of pics that caused me to wonder if the darker echie exhibited characteristics of P. mexicanum instead of P. texanum.
