Major Posted April 1, 2009 Share Posted April 1, 2009 partial deer molar. And they're different colors because one part is the root, the other the tooth. Think of a shark tooth. The "tooth" has a layer of enamel over the dentine, while the root is just that dentine. The enamel results in the coloration.
