FossilHunter99
I found this a few years back, but I cant remember where. I think its amber because its semi transparent and on picture 4 there is an impression that seems to be from grass (I dont know if it can be apreciated from the image). Auspex
Mix 23 grams of table salt into 200 ml of water; if the nugget floats, it will have passed the first test of amber. 1 "There has been an alarming increase in the number of things I know nothing about." - Ashleigh Ellwood Brilliant “Try to learn something about everything and everything about something.” - Thomas Henry Huxley >Paleontology is an evolving science. >May your wonders never cease! Scylla
isn't there a test where you rub it or heat it and it smells like pine instead of burnt plastic?
Auspex
isn't there a test where you rub it or heat it and it smells like pine instead of burnt plastic? The hot needle will be the next step, if it passes the specific gravity test, to rule out plastic. FossilHunter99
Doesnt float...oh well I'm still curious about what it is. I'm sure it was a "liguid" that hardened, on one of its side it has really small pebbles and impressions in it (including the grass one).
