Pterosaur
Hey everyone! I am looking for a really neat picture of something fossil related that I could draw. Preferably, not something off of Google images...haha. I am always surprised by the amazing places, fossils, and experiences I see people talk about in this forum, so I'm sure there are some pretty interesting pictures to go along with them. If you've got something you think could make an interesting drawing I'd love to see it. I promise to post whatever I draw! Thanks guys! -Lauren "I am a part of all that I have met." - Lord Alfred Tennyson
fossilcrazy
I believe there is a high percentage of fossil enthusiasts that are very good artists. Look forward to whose fossil you choose as your subject.
fossilized6s
I think a nice, nasty looking Therapsid would be a nice study. There aren't many illustrations of them. ~Charlie~ "There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why.....i dream of things that never were, and ask why not?" ~RFK ->Get your Mosasaur print ->How to spot a fake Trilobite ->How to identify a CONCRETION from a DINOSAUR EGG
Ludwigia
Here's a suggestion. Take a look through all of the galleries here. I'm sure you'll come up with some inspiration there. Raptor Lover
In my opinion one of the coolest dinosaur skulls around belongs to Dracorex. Dracorex-Skull.jpg That's a very nice skull. LordTrilobite
That's a very nice skull. What species is it? Dracorex only has one species assigned to it currently. Dracorex hogwartsia. It's named after the castle Hogwarts from the Harry Potter books. Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite

Raptor Lover
Despite its mean looking appearance it's a Pachycephalosaurid Thank you. Still a very intimidating dino "Or speak to the earth, and let it teach you" Job 12:
Troodon
What is interesting is that the digger who uncovered Dueling Dinosaurs Nanotyrannus also found a complete Stygimoloch skull. He sold it privately but here are photos of a cast of that skull that I shot in his work area. Edited November 12, 2015 by Troodon
LordTrilobite
As far as I know there are no 3D casts like that. the holotype skull was pretty complete, but badly crushed. So all the 3D skulls should be sculptures, if I'm not mistaking. Wasn't there also some controversy on Dracorex and Stigimoloch being just juvenile Pachycephalosaurus? It was a while ago since I last heard from that. Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite
Troodon
This has nothing to do with the holotype. This was a private find went to auction did not meet reserve and then sold privately. The cast was done locally nothing associated with a museum. Horner believes that there are not multiple species of Pachycephalosaurus and changes in skull ornamentation is a result of aging
LordTrilobite
Oh more Dracorex skulls have been found? I wasn't aware. Edit: After looking them up again. Aren't both skulls you linked Stygimoloch? Because Dracorex doesn't seem to have any dome on it's head. Troodon
You know you are correct those skulls are from a Stygimoloch, thanks will fix above Edited November 12, 2015 by Troodon
LordTrilobite
So then I was right about there being only the crushed skull of Dracorex? Because I remember that being a thing. With the replicas sold being reconstructed based on the crushed skull. Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite
DE&i
Hi Lauren, I often try to depict a scene where one of the famous Leeds brother's found a supposed Sauropod egg in 1870 or round about there here in the UK from one of first Clay Quarrys. Could you possibly draw a simple pencil drawing creating this scene.
