mikeymig
After reading the book Cruisin' the Fossil Freeway by Kirk Johnson,Ray Troll, I thought about the holy trinity of collecting for a minute. Then it occurred to me that I have this where I live. Well I come close in my area but no Ammonites. Instead of an ammonite I have this Devonian ammonoid (Manticoceras). The trilobite is an Eldredgeops and the arrowhead is a Brewerton corner notched point. All three were found by me within 50 miles of my home. Do you live in a The holy trinity of collecting zone? If so post your 3 here. Mikey Edited December 3, 2015 by mikeymig 1 Many times I've wondered how much there is to know. led zeppelin

Wrangellian
When I read your title I was thinking they would be something more rare/valuable (top of wish list), such as a Burgess critter, an Ediacaran critter, and [fill in the blank with something different but equally desirable and hard to get (dino skeleton/skull?)] For me the first two are among the top 3 for sure, just not sure what the 3rd one would be. Tullymonster? As for ammo, trilo and arrowhead, of course these are more common and more recognizable, and something everyone should have a representative of in their collection. If I restrict myself to Vancouver Island, I might have all 3. Certainly lots of ammos, possibly some trilobutts but source needs to be confirmed (did not collect these myself but I know similar items have been found here. Nowhere near as common as the ammos, though). And I have one spear point from my local beach.
