jlhredshift
Here is a link to my photos on Flickr. The first two photos are of an unknown animal, probably a coral or sponge. It was found in a drainage ditch with a lot of similar sized igneous erratics used for erosion control. Apparently the impact of unloading into the ditch cracked open the ironstone that had accreted around it. It probably came from the Cleveland shale member, which is common in north east Ohio, as are the concretions. John In October 1937, Roland T. Bird and Barnum Brown unearthed a Mammoth/Mastodon near Argos Indiana at the Thompson farm. I can not locate where it is now. micropterus101
Possibly a reworked concretion. Concretionary fossils are ussually fairly well preserved. Your pics are good But I cant see any structure that would suggest It is coral or sponge. fossil crabs website
