megateeth Posted May 8, 2009 Share Posted May 8, 2009 I went out tonight and did pretty well. The current was very strong and I had absolutely no vis. I got back into a deep spot where the boat I wrote about was. There were some pilings there and I dug around and found some nice Megs. Here are the finds for the day. The larger one measures just a touch over 5". The two smaller ones are in great condition. The best tooth is the lower center tooth in the 1st photo that looks broken. It really is not, it is just deformed. The final few pics show the shape. The left side shows where the serrations end just before the bottom of the root. According to a guy at work, the Earth is around ten thousand years old, so I am the first one to see it in at least a few thousand years . Actually I could barely see it while I was underwater. The guy that runs my boat usually has them pulled out of my bag before I am out of my gear, so sometimes he is the first one to see it clearly in ten thousand years. Yea, lately I have been doing pretty well if you do not count a couple of days last week. I usually do well for a week in a row then the fossil Gods pull the rug out from under me for awhile. I am short on 5"ers right now. I do have a large supply of 7" Bone Valley teeth. Would one of those be ok?
