SpringGroveUK
I'm learning, bit I don't know a whole lot yet about the geology side of things. I was wondering what mineral my megalodon tooth was made from? The seller told me it was found in the ACE river basin in South Carolina. The tooth is the common black root/gray enamel variety. Photo below. Ignore the great white replica on the right. Thanks.
Troodon
Not sure you can say with your tooth by just looking at it. Teeth fossilize through a process called mineralization and you need to know what minerals were present in the sediments when that occured. These minerals fill in pore spaces in the tooth causing them to fossilize. Every locality would be different.
Darktooth
Also the different colors of shark teeth are caused by diffent minerals. 1 I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.
