Odd Tooth(?) From The Pond

Found this in the Cretaceous material at the pond near a couple of nice Mosasaur teeth (pictured) The shark tooth is 3" to give size.

Nice finds, no idea what the mystery tooth is if it's not mosasaur.

I photographed this tooth before I washed it so the shape of the grooves would photograph better. Under the grey matrix it is as polished as the exposed areas. What is odd is that the grooves run lengthwise like a tooth I found in the GMR as opposed to the very battered tooth in the group photo.

The general size and shape, plus the association with Mos teeth found at this site suggested Mos to me as well. It gets a little complicated when there are similar teeth (Whale, Croc and Gator) found in the same area.

Very odd that it would erode this way - if that is the case. Thanks for the input. :D
