lolman1c
I'm looking into buying a smallish north sea mammoth tooth and I'm not sure which one of these two specimens I should buy... Their priced around about the same and from the same source (I'm sure many of you know it). What do you guys think? item One or item two? Auspex
Between the two images provided, I too am attracted to the second. Here's hoping that they were de-salinized and stabilized properly. lolman1c
Haha, I don't have room for two XD. I got myself the second one and it is on its way. I did like that one a little more as well. The teeth have been treated with a hardener.

aplomado
I would look for one better preserved, if you can save the money. Both of those are pretty weathered.

Here's hoping that they were de-salinized and stabilized properly. I will second Auspex's concerns. I've heard many horror stories about North Sea fossils. They are extremely sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity. www.PrehistoricFlorida.com
