When a roadcut presents itself, they tend to lurch and weave. To them, the roadcut is a portal, a fragment of a regional story, a proscenium arch that leads their imaginations into the earth and through the surrounding terrain. - John McPheeIf I'm going to drive safely, I can't do geology. - John McPheeCheck out my Blog for more fossils I've found: http://viewsofthemahantango.blogspot.com/
Megaselachus13
It reminds me vaguely of hadrosaurid Chinese eggs (Segnosaur?). Perhaps a more detailed pic can help.

mommabetts
Now that does look like a hadrosaurid chinese egg, Did you buy this? Where did it come from? When asking for fossil ID, it helps to give as much about it as you can, especially the location it came from. It helps to ID better.
BobC
The second pic looks like an egg--but not the first one. Are you saying they are both the same fossil? Doesn't look like it but I've never found an aggs--I've seen them at shows though!
Guest N.AL.hunter
OK, I don't want to sound accusatory here, but those two pictures sure do not look like they are of the same item or taken with the same camera.

DChalo
Ok, the people who were in the chat yesterday know about this. My friend is sending me pictures of what he thinks is a rock but i think its an egg. He sends them to me and i am posting them. I've seen the rock, it looks like it does in the pictures. The rock looks kinda odd in person though
Boesse
Can't tell from the photos. Could be an egg, but then again, there are billions of rocks within 5 miles of me that look 'eggxactly' like this one. You need a photo taken with really high resolution of the microtexture of the surface of the purported egg to be sure. Real eggshell has little bumps, ridges, and dimples on it. Without that, we can't tell what it is. Bobby
