Mahnmut
Ahoi. In 2018 @Macrophyseter suggested that I make a Lyviatan melvillei skeleton, I told him that could take some time. Turns out I was right. Still only a skull, and I think I will keep it that way. Will look nice next to the Cacholot. I think I learned a bit in the last 6 years, skulpting that one from an Orca scan took me only 3 hours. Was a nice variation from all those reptile ribs. In my eyes Lyviatan is just as much a giant orca as a toothed Spermwhale, makes imaginable how the crazy morphology of the latter evolved from more conservative shapes (relatively, speaking of cetaceans). This will keep my printer busy for longer than me sculpting it... Mahnmut
The internet is to big. Just after printing my version I found a scientific reconstruction online: https://www.phenome10k.org/livyatan-melvillei Turns out I had the supracranial basin way to shallow. Fotos to follow.
