Ramo
I stopped at a road cut off I-71 at the Crestwood exit and found a few things. I included a photo to show where I found them. They were at the very top of the first photo (up by the evergreen tree). All of the fossils were stained kind of red, except for the very shiny coral. I want to know what the little cup looking thing is. Auspex
Good question; any hint of it being a gastropod? Ramo
It is just a smooth round "rock" with a hole down into it. It seems to have a little bit of matrix attached to it on the opposite side of the hole. If it didn't have the hole in it I would say its just a round waterworn rock. But no other rocks in the area are eroded, and the cup (hole) doesn't look like an accident. It looks to symetrical to just be an eroded rock.
